Random Procrastination

Have you heard Oasis' newest album: "Dig Out Your Soul"? You should. It's enjoyable.

I think I'm going to spend some time this evening with Jason Statham in "Death Race".

Think it's too early to make a "To Bring" list for the Habitat trip? I don't think so. After this chapter is read.

Darn, my hi-lighter is running out. :(

Pretty sure I've gotten more done in the past 4 hours than I have all term. That's horrible!

And apparently the library closes earlier than I thought... much earlier. So gonna have to pack myself up sooner than I'd wanted. I can move towards coffee!

Oh I was wrong. I still have more time. Which is good cause I didn't really want to get up. Especially since I seem to have hurt my ankle as the swelling, bruising, limping and pain would suggest.
Belligerent doesn't mean what I thought it meant.

Weekend adventures

Ah dear blog, I have neglected thee lately.
Mostly cause I just have nothing very exciting to say.

Last night was no broken bones for a year party! Lol. So we played board games (Quelf and Stock Ticker). All very much fun. I'm still cleaning up the plethora of things Islander spilt on my carpet, after my having done a good cleaning of the apartment yesterday morning. Oh well, twas a good time nevertheless.

Today is reading day. Thus far it's been my most productive day all term. Needless to say I've been not feeling very motivated to do any work lately. But I have gotten to the point where I no longer have a choice so now I must play catch-up. Which only puts me more behind so perhaps it will be more like a pretend I read everything up to the point and just working on staying on schedule for the rest of the term.

Today is Lsgb's birthday. And since this time I'm not stuck in the hospital there are plans for celebrations this evening. Not sure how much celebrating will be done since it's Sunday and everyone has class early in the morning but it should be a good time nonetheless.

I got my haircut! I went in for just a trim and then the woman cutting it asked if I wanted bangs. I said no cause I'd never had them before but lsgb quickly said yes. So here I am with bangs which are driving me absolutely crazy cause they are in my face and keep getting stuck between my glasses and my face. My hair is also straight right now, which looks really nice. I may actually try to straigten it more often too. But I'm a lazy person when it comes to my hair, I like wash and go and straightening it is certainly not a wash and go process but we'll see!

Anywhooo back to the work!

When I said I hate romance. I lied. I freely admit it.
Stupid Sunday movies. :)

And in exciting news!

After discovering that I've gained a tremendously horrible amount of weight since starting university I decided it was time to get healthy and lose some of it (if not most).
I usually have a very difficult time keeping motivated and such. But this week I've done great and it's shown on the scale - making me extremely happy!
Now to keep it going another 3ish months and I'll be happy. :)

Complaints

Don't read if you don't want to hear me complain.

You've been warned.

It's bloody fricken cold out there! And in here. There's an extremey cold draft coming out from under my heater. I can't stuff something under it cause then I'd die when my building burnt down. And my build makes huge cracking and banging noises in the cold.

Second, you know what really sucks? When you realize that the person you've been crushing doesn't like you. At all. Even as a person or a friend.

Last, on the relationshipy front... being the only one of your 10ish friends who's single is an unpleasant place to be in. Weekends and holidays can be pretty damn depressing when everyone's got someone to spend it with you but you.

Annnddd self pity over. :)

hard but last term!

So classes are back. And I've started 'em with a bang: a very very sore back! I've been stuck on my couch for the past two days pretty much, can barely walk. I have no idea what I did though. But I got to the doctor tonight so hopefully the drugs I got will help speed up the recovery process.
So I was all excited about having an easy term (only four classes and only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, until my advisor emailed me today and told me I need another history course for my major. So now I'm in three history courses, and two political science courses and have classes every day of the week. So much for working a job and having a easy last term. Instead I"m probably going to have the busiest and heaviest workload I've ever had.
Oh well, the classes should be interesting. I've got Canadian Federalism (which now that I know what Federalism is, should be interesting. Plus I'm in the class with Islander, A and LilL). Then there's International Relations Theory (Has two huge papers but it also has my crush in it soooo... ;), then there's The Germanies After 1945 (Also should be cool), Soldering Through the Ages (also cool despite the 30% participation mark) and Seapower and World Wars (which I haven't been too yet). So that's my last term of university!
Well the meds are kicking in and I'm getting drowsy and dizzy and a bit giggly soooo night! And I'll try and update more often over the next bit!

Sunday movie fun

So in the past couple days I've watched the four Die Hard movies. I've been meaning to see them for awhile and just got around to it now. A few things...
- In the first three movies... he makes friends with a black guy who helps him out. They switch it up in the fourth.
- The fourth one... not nearly as good as the first three. They tried too hard I think.

Overall, I enjoyed them. Good movies where ya don't have to think too much!

On another note... H4H needs to pay me... I wouldn't need the part time job then! I've just spent 6ish hours doing stuff today.. and there's still more to do. And I can see at least 5 hours or so of meetings this week. I really like it though... is there a job where I can do this kind of thing all the time?! Cause I want it!
I'm doing horrible on my try to avoid walmart resolution...
But I did get the first three seasons of Stargate SG1 today for only $30! So it was worth it!

Overheard during the holidays

"[while hanging a mirror]
Me: "Now which of us is better at screwing?"
Mom: "Well I've had more experience..."

[After putting up the Christmas tree]
Sister: "Gross! I've got spruce tree all over me!"
Mom: "Wonder how you managed that, especially since this tree is a fir."

[After opening her "Bamboo" towels]
Mom: "Ooooo I'm getting all ecological; David Suzuki would be so proud!"

[During a game of monopoly]
LilCousin: "Whistler isn't in Canada!"
LilBro: "Yes it is! It's in Ontario!"

[While playing the Wii for the first time]
Mom: "Remote jacket? I have to go get my jacket?!"
